If you want to start paying off your debts then you will need to find a way to make some extra money to be able to do this. It could seem like something that would be a lot of hard work, but actually there are a lot of possible ways that you could do this and it may not be as difficult as you might think.
The first thing to remember is that you only have to pay off a small amount each month and you will eventually clear the debt. Therefore it is not about finding a huge sum of money all in one go. As you slowly pay off small chunks of what is owed, the interest payments will reduce and you will have more money available to pay off even more. Hopefully as you start making extra money, you will find more and more ways to make more and this will mean the amount you pay off will increase as well. Just make sure that you do not accumulate any more debt and that you start paying back some and everything will start moving in a positive direction.
There are lots of potential ways to make extra money, both within your current job and on top of it. Obviously this will depend on the job you do, there skills you have and the time that you have available but you should find that there will be something that you will be able to do.
Making Extra Money in Your Current Job
In your current work you may be able to ask for a pay rise and this should help a little bit. You may find that there is overtime available if you ask around and this could also be beneficial. Perhaps working towards a promotion or changing jobs to a better paid one within the company could be a good way to make some more money as well. If your pay rises are based on appraisals, then make sure that you work hard so that you get a good appraisal and therefore are deemed as worthy of a pay rise.
Making Extra Money Outside of Your Job
If you have little chance of earning money in your current job or want to do something extra to that, then there are things that you can do. If you are working, you will need to check in your employment contract to see what work you are allowed to do. You will also need to consider when you will have time to do this extra work and what sort of work you would want to do. You could do some evening or weekend work, assuming your current job is a weekday 9-5 job and therefore get some extra money that way. You could do some freelance work, start a business or find small online jobs. There are a lot of options available online, if you search carefully and although it can be hard work, you can start to build up a reputation where you will be able to get more and more work.
