Buy more tickets
Your odds of winning will increase if you buy more tickets. Therefore rather than buying one ticket per draw for a year, you will have better odds of winning if you buy lots of tickets for just one draw. If you buy two tickets for the Saturday draw you have doubled your chances of winning on Saturday but if you buy a ticket for Saturday and Wednesday you have the same chance of winning each draw (assuming the same amount of other people buy tickets for each). However, the odds of winning the lottery are so tiny anyway, that this may not make a significant enough difference to make it worthwhile.
Join a syndicate
Joining a syndicate is another way of increasing your chances of winning. If you have a large group then this will make a big difference to the chances of you winning. A group of 50, for example will have a much better chance of winning, than if you buy just one ticket yourself. However, you will have to share the prize between members of the syndicate and therefore any winnings that you do get, will be smaller.
Get free tickets
Sometimes there are opportunities to get free tickets. These are great as you do not have to pay out anything and you still get a chance to play. It is rare to get these, but worth looking around for opportunities. For example there is a search engine where you can earn lottery tickets in exchange for searching. There are also websites where you can have free entries to daily lotteries, although the prizes may be a lot smaller than the lotto, but they are free and so worth a try.
Do not Play
Many people have concluded that the best way to get rich with the lotto is to avoid playing altogether. They save the money instead and feel that they get a better return on their money that way. Of course, it is perhaps not so much fun and the return on a lottery ticket could potentially be a lot bigger, but it all depends on how much risk you are winning to take.
Look at odds/prizes
If you are looking for a really big jackpot, then you need to monitor the predicted jackpot prizes before entering. These do vary and so it is worth considering whether you should be carefully considering which draw to enter. Of course, due to the nature of the lottery prize fund, usually a bigger jackpot means more people have entered and therefore you have a smaller chance of winning, but if you are only interested in a big win, this could be the best way to go about it.
